Tom and Collette Mayers discovered Erganagh House as a near ruin and have restored it with great patience and care. Built as a rectory, it is an important 18th century neo-classical building, on top of a wooded hill, in an area of outstanding natural beauty north of Omagh. There are numerous attractions in the area including the Ulster-American Folk Park with its’ extensive genealogy centre and the Gortin Forest Park in the Sperrin Mountains. Erganagh is the perfect base for discovering this lesser-known quarter of Ulster, rich in archaeological and historical sites with a host of interesting National Trust properties to visit and explore.
